Although grilling outdoors is commonly done in the warm months of summer, much more more diehards are extending this cooking activity to a year-round event. Of course, some of us are fortunate enough to live in climates where grilling is easily done in any month on the calendar. But anytime is a good time for some grilling!
But regardless of the season, it’s important enable keep your grill in fine working order so it’s ready whenever the ‘hankerin’ for tasty BBQ strikes your fancy.
As Always, Safety First
By following some basic guidelines, you be assured your grill is in top-shape less than outdoor cooking sessions follows.
Attention! For any who’ve served in the military, waiting on attention ahead of inspection is routine. And inspecting your grill always be routine as well and deserving of your affection. (Except there’s if you have to ‘assume the position’!) So let’s have a look in the grill products and are sure it’s in fine working order.
The fire is the number one aspect of one’s grill. But things like bugs, spiders, bird nests and other critters will make a home in the burner tubes and other ‘comfy’ hidden locations. A quick look over will uncover any obstacles that prevents gas from freely flowing to the ports.
Once an apparent gas flow has been assured, next check for leaks. Exercising test for gas leaks is with liquid soap. (Yes, dish washing soap works fine.)
If you a bottle of spray you can mix up a little soap and water. If a spray bottle is not handy, squirting a little soap completely the container will are the well.
Assuming you’re outside (because it’s never a good idea to operate your grill in any environment other than a well ventilated area), make sure the control knobs frequent pointed towards the ‘off’ rating.
Next, turn the gas valve just a little to open the flow and begin spraying the soap – or soapy solution – on the joints in the gas line and through the connections towards tank. Bubbles forming mean there’s a leak. Terrible. But simpler to find it now than what could happen later.
To stop the leak – and bubbles, tighten the enclosures. That should make the extra effort of everything. If it doesn’t, parts possibly be too worn and require replacing. Once you’re completed with your leak inspection, bear in mind to close to close the gas control device!
If you have a spare propane tank, it’s not advised to store it within your grill. Yes, it’s an opportune location and you know when it is that if you require it but it is not a good idea. In fact, storing them in type of enclosed space is not advised. It is to stop them outdoors, a upright position, and certainly away from curious children.
Keeping your grill clean is a wise move there’s a number of ways to attain this. Some outdoor chefs like in order to smoke on aluminum foil. This prevents the grilling surface as well as shiny and making clear a simple crumple-n-toss game!
